Woolloomooloo Wharf (Finger Wharf)
Woolloomooloo Wharf (Finger Wharf)
Project Overview
Once earmarked for demolition, the early 1900s structure was revived into a vibrant mixed-use precinct featuring residential apartments, hotel accommodation, restaurants, retail, and marina facilities. Ben played a key role in the delivery of this landmark project, gaining invaluable experience in managing complex heritage constraints, stakeholder coordination, and the integration of new hotel and residential uses within a highly sensitive waterfront setting. His involvement extended across various facets of the development process — including planning, design coordination, construction interface, financial structuring and delivery oversight.
The $450 million redevelopment delivered:
- 310 luxury waterfront apartments
- A 104-key premium hotel
- Retail, dining and public spaces
- 450+ car spaces and commercial offices
- Extensive heritage conservation works
The project is widely regarded as one of Sydney’s most successful adaptive reuse and heritage restoration developments and remains a benchmark for integrated waterfront regeneration in Australia. It was also recognised as a winner in the 2025 ULI Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence, celebrating outstanding development achievements across the region.
